MEET REGEN

The Regen Shawl is now live and sold individually just in time for holiday gift making season (or to treat yourself)! Previously only available in Making: Volume Three - DOTS, this texture-rich shawl pairs soft circular combos of knit and purl stitches with a border that mimics the dots of falling rain. Regen shines in Phoebe by Quince & Co. and is a versatile and light accessory that is both engaging and relaxing to knit. Regen was inspired by the patterns that raindrops and frozen water make on windows and I hope you'll enjoy both knitting and wearing Regen as much as I do.

HARO is the newest shawl pattern of mine for this year's Hinterland Straits 2017 collection! Haro is meant to be curled up and snuggled into. It's the shawl you reach for on blustery days, for seaside strolls & chilly nights, and on days you just need a knit hug.

HARO features a half-hap shawl construction. Worked in two colours of Hinterland Range, the Haro shawl is a stunning composition of openwork, texture, and colourshifts. The fabric of this generously-sized shawl is soft and cozy, with repeated stripes that create beautiful swirls reminiscent of cascading waves when wrapped for warmth.

When that special piece that's missing from your closet turns from a rough sketch to your new fave sweater! A wonderful kind of magic that I'll never tire of. Veronika knits up quickly and feels so darn good for the soul. I can't help but smile every time I see her. I like to describe her as Aritzia meets rustic wool...lol. She's one of those sweaters you can live in - you know, my fave kind - the ones you can throw on with most things, layer through all the seasons....heck you can wear it with your pjs around the house (which you definitely know I'll be doing...lol).

I'm so excited to finally be able to share that I recently got to design two patterns for the newest Berroco Portfolio - Volume 4! I designed a hat and cowl set called Cavilleri that was inspired by Ali McGraw's character from the iconic romance "Love Story".

I'm so excited to release my newest shawl pattern today - ATMEN! What does Atmen mean? It means breathe in German (read below to find out the back story of Atmen). With Atmen I knew I wanted to design and knit something that was meditative and soothing but that was still fun to make. You know the kind of pattern I mean.....the knitflixing kind...lol.

I'm so happy & excited to release the FEYRE Shawl knitting pattern today! FEYRE was inspired by the main character Feyre, from the Court of Thorn and Roses Series by Sarah J. Maas, and is a crescent shaped shawl that embodies both the strength & softness, and the lightness & darkness that are always at play within Feyre. Relaxing to knit combinations of Stockinette stitch, Garter stitch and Slip Stitch Ribs combine to make a shawl filled with texture that's fabulous for showing off your new favorite marl, tonal or hand dyed yarn!

Earlier this year I had the pleasure of being part of a brand new collection releasing today for Hinterland Called Hinterland Straits! I used Hinterland Range, a lofty worsted weight, for both of my patterns - Compass Shawl and Rivers Wrap. I found Range so inspiring to work with and really enjoyed designing and knitting both of these cozy and versatile accessories. I hope you enjoy each of these pieces as much as I do.

Over the last few months our first home underwent a kitchen reno. It's been a fun, sometimes stressful and very educational experience...lol. If you've ever renovated I'm sure you know what I mean. While l I haven't yet shared the finished renovation on the blog yet (I plan to in Sept) I have been having a wonderful time sourcing lovely accessories & decor items for our main floor. So when I got an email from my awesomely talented and sweet friend Dana of MADE EVERYDAY to join in on her Boardwalk Delight fabric blog party I just knew I HAD to have the Eat It All print all over! I mean c'mon people! Kitchen + black/white + eat it all = shannon needs! Lol! So instead of going out and buying some of my fave style of potholders I decided to sew some up and share the FREE PATTERN for my POCKET POTHOLDERS with you too!

Meet a triangular shawl that’s as addictive to knit as it is snuggly to wear. Amberle’s squishy textural stitches bring worsted yarns to life and the repetitive pattern is easily memorized—making it much less complicated than it looks. I've had a yearning for a new hat & fingerless mitts this season! I knew as soon as Brooklyn Tweed released their gorgeous new bulky yarn - Quarry the other month that it was time to get knitting! The LANDSLIDE HAT & MITTS SET are filled with yummy texture, are super cozy, and they are oh so fun to knit & wear! They make great quick gift knitting but are also perfect for treating yourself with!

Last May I was beyond thrilled to have my pattern EMERY in the Summer 2014 Issue of Pom Pom Quarterly! It was definitely a highlight of the year for me! I love Pom Pom! I love to knit & wear my handknits in the summer. So when the warm weather rolls around I'm all about still wearing my pretty shawls. Our newest pattern - BRADWAY, is all about summer.
